On the 9th June 2007 demonstrators around the world protested in solidarity with palestine to mark the 40th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights.
Over 20 000 people marched to Trafalgar square.

SUSSEX STUDENTS VOTE TO TWIN WITH PALESTINIAN UNIVERSITY IN THE WEST BANK

The University of Sussex Students’ Union (USSU) Council yesterday ratified the results of a referendum held from 31st May – 1st June on whether USSU should twin with the Tubas Study Centre of Al-Quds Open University in occupied Palestine, in which students voted overwhelmingly in support of the motion. Overall 759 students voted in favour of the motion, and only 107 against, with nearly a thousand students participating in the debate.
