Water Project Update: January 2010
Water pipes have now be laid to the Zoba community, which lies just north of Humsa, near Hamra village. The community were able to lay the pipes, despite being just 400m from Al Hamra checkpoint. This will have a massive impact: the Zoba community used to pay 30 shekels per cubic meter of water - they now have to pay just 1 shekel.
It is hoped that we will be able to run water to at least two more communities within the next 6 months.
Jordan Valley Solidarity are appealing for international support for the project.
In Brighton we have successfully raised £1,500, and hope to raise another £3,500 by the end of February.
