    We will be hosting the first ever gathering of Jordan Valley activists from around the world in Brighton from 10th - 12th November. This will be followed by a one day event in London on 13th November, when we will give a presentation to NGOs, hold a meeting in Parliament, and end the day with a press conference.

    Jordan Valley Solidarity are constantly challenging Israel's ethnic cleansing of local communities through supporting communities to stand firm when they are threatened, and by building local community projects.

    The situation in the Jordan Valley is now more serious than ever. The level of harassment of Palestinian communities by the Israeli army and settlers has been building up over the last few months. It has affected villages throughout the area, but there can be no doubt that over the last month they have been attempting to make life in Al Farisiya unendurable.

    At our meeting last week we decided to change our name to Brighton Jordan Valley Solidarity.

    This reflects the importance of working with communities in the Jordan Valley who are resisting attempts by Israel to ethnically cleanse it of Palestinians ready to claim it for themselves and the illegal settlers who already control much of the valley.

    Tomer is an illegal Israeli settlement of nearly 300 people close to the Palestinian community of Fasayil. It employs Palestinian and Thai workers, the bosses are Israeli. Tomer was established in 1976 on the lands of the people of Fasayil, Al Auja and other nearby Palestinian communities.
